Devlog - Prototype #6
Beta version Released
Solveland is now released as a beta version!
Overview of Solveland!
New Level added - Level 3.5 (Ex)
In the previous devlog, I showed a sneak peek into the new level that I was working on. Now the level is playable in the latest build. It is an introductory level for the new cubes feature, called 'Extended Cubes'. The level is slowly teaching the player the new feature and the possibilities with it.

New Level added - Level 4.1 (Cu+Ex)
A new level has been designed, build, and implemented. This level contains the 'Extended Cubes' feature with the 'Cubes' feature. It is the level that comes after level 3.5 (Ex). The puzzles in this level are pretty difficult, but over the course of the development of this level, I have made the puzzles a bit easier.

More visuals added
The center of the map now has paths, which helps the player guide towards the goal.
Overview of the center level of the game
In the latest build there are trees (finally) and some floating islands. It makes the map much more life. The colors and contrast are also increased significantly.

There are now also trees at the end of each puzzle, this has multiple reasons. First off, it brings more color to the level. Secondly, it shows where the player has to go. It functions as a point of interest for the puzzles. There are moments where the player doesn't fully know where they are or where they have to go, this will help out.

Map Layout Update
The latest build also contains an update on the map structure. There was a gate at the end of level 3.5 (Ex), but those two have been swapped around. Now, after an empty island in the north of the map, there is a gate on the right side. This means that the player now always have to do the left side first. At the end of the two levels on the left side, there will be a key, which will open the gate.

Improved Rotation Pads
In this update, I have improved the visual look of the rotation pads. Now, the player can see the direction the pad is facing and what type of feature the pad is. There are 3 different features and each feature has its own pad.

User Experience
The game lacks player feedback and user experience, this is something I am aware of. In the last few days of my deadline, I did my best to increase the user experience a bit. For example, now the doors have a color that reflects the key that is needed for that door. This makes it easier for the player to understand which key opens which door. There are still some UX elements that I can implement to make certain puzzles more clear and better readable.
Paths have been added in the latest build
Thank you
The reason why I am creating these devlogs is to log my work publicly. To give a sense of pressure to me. However, I am always open to feedback and constructed criticism. If you have a question or feedback, feel free to leave it below! Thank you again for reading!
Special Thanks
Special thanks to the players who tested the game and gave constructed criticism and feedback. Thank you for your feedback, your enthusiasm, and your interest!
